The Cantab Underground - February 16th, 2024

The Bird Brains (Above) round 2 at the Cantab Underground in the middle slot

The boys are back in town, the boys are underground underground. Lean, mean, and living the dream supporting Cassidy Deadwater & the Unruly Few, the birds took the stage for more rounds than they could possibly contend with on a normal basis. They had the crowd shaking their tailfeathers coming out Shake Your Money Makers best, Hard to Handle and jeez louise, did they have to hold on for dear life. New friends with the keg operator gave the gents the liquid confidence they needed to play sloppy, yet supple with a less is more approach to both gear and musical fusion. Can I backline your backline? That's what the idea was this time. Stay agile, but just stiff enough to see if your car gets towed overnight. Responsible flight. Still not sure where Tweety ended up that evening, but he did find solace cheering in real time to golf that happened a full 8 hours prior to his dedicated interest. Speed kills, and The Bird Brains decided that they would breeze through the likes of the usual suspect tunes with a little Luke Combs car crash for the new heads in attendance. The highlight of the evening with an unannounced go move on a Free Bird finally with Cassidy Deadwater that ultimately, was a tough act to follow with a performance to remember of theirs with Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers. Wow. Just a big old Owen Wilson "Wow". You know how he says it. Magzy punching air right now thinking he had the most nasally voice you've heard all too well. Nope. None the less, lightening strikes twice for the Birds as they sold out both shows at the Cantab. Trending upward and somehow leaving the show without saying goodbye. Just how high, can these birds fly. Stay tooned. Buck Buck... Bagawk. See you next time.

Yours Truly,

The Bird Brains
